Green is beautiful! Small grants for environmental projects in the Karpasia/Karpaz RegionJun 21, 2013
The European Commission and the United Nations Development Programme Partnership for the Future (UNDP-PFF) are inviting civil society organizations working on environment and traditional cultural heritage to submit proposals for small grants in the Karpasia/Karpaz region.
This is the first time such call is fully dedicated to this region and particularly to the three geographic areas of: Galateia(Galatya)/Mehmetcik, Aigialousa(Yalusa)/Yenierenköy, Rizokarpaso/Dipkarpaz.
The European Commission and the United Nations Development Programme Partnership for the Future (UNDP-PFF) warmly encourage civil society organizations and other eligible bodies to submit their ideas for new projects that would increase environmental awareness and work with the local communities to promote the protection of the region’s natural and cultural resources.
Thanks to European Union funds, UNDP-PFF has set aside approx. EUR 200,000 to fund approved proposals. Grants will start at EUR 5,000 up to 15,000 Euro for initiatives that will make tangible improvements in the lives of the local communities, their relationship with the environment and visitors’ experience of the region. Grant awards will be announced in August/September 2013.

Deadline to submit an application is 29 July 2013, 12:00pm Cyprus local time.
Information Days will be organised in Galateia(Galatya)/Mehmetcik, Aigialousa(Yalusa)/Yenierenköy, Rizokarpaso/Dipkarpaz, Famagusta and Nicosia during the first week of July.
