Following an agreement by the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mr. Mustafa Akıncı, and the Greek Cypriot leader, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, on 26 February 2019, the sides agreed to an exchange of artworks—the Turkish Cypriot side returned paintings by Greek Cypriot artists and the Greek Cypriot side returned audiovisual recordings of Turkish Cypriot artists from their respective archives.
This publication includes photos and stories from 31 heritage sites island wide, including Orthodox, Maronite and Armenian churches, mosques and minarets, fortifications, hamams, aqueducts and watermills that were conserved, structurally supported, physically protected or restored with the support of the European Union.
